Kids Yoga · Service detail

Yoga that feels like play.

Story-based classes for ages six to twelve. Built to be loved before it's understood.

Our approach

Story before pose. Always.

Most kids' yoga throws poses at children and hopes something sticks. Ours runs on stories instead. Every class is a forty-minute journey through a place — a forest, an ocean, a mountain — and the poses are the characters kids meet along the way.

Children remember what they did, not what they were told. By session three, they're calling out poses by name because they've met them, not because we made them memorise.

Inside the class

Forty minutes, four chapters.

01

Arrive

Land in the room. A quick wave hello, which story are we visiting today, a sixty-second body shake to drop the school week.

02

Meet the characters

The animal poses, the natural shapes. Tree, lion, butterfly, mountain. Kids hold them while we tell the story they belong to.

03

Move through the story

The poses link into a flow. Partner moments where two kids hold a shape together. Movement memory takes over and the teaching disappears.

04

Calm down

The last seven minutes are quiet. A short visualisation, a slow breath count, the story closes. Kids leave grounded, not buzzing.

For parents

Practice with your child, once a month.

The bond is the point as much as the practice. Most of our parents end up starting their own practice again because of these sessions.

Trained to teach the body and feed it, because those aren't two separate conversations when a child is growing. Sessions are led by an expert with kids-specific training. Parent intake covers anything dietary or developmental we should be aware of.

Who it's for

Three kinds of children we work best with.

  • Kids aged six to twelve who learn by doing, not by listening.
  • Parents who want to share the practice — our parent-child sessions open once a month.
  • Children whose evenings have lost the calm they used to have.
How it works

Three steps to your child's first class.

01

Parent intake

A short form. No health-detail interrogation. Just what we genuinely need to know to keep your child safe.

02

Free trial

Twenty minutes one-on-one with your child. We'll tell you honestly whether the fit is right.

03

Join the right batch

The story-cycle rotates monthly. No child ever repeats the same "world", so attention stays high all year.

Setup

What the child needs.

  • A living-room space, big enough to lie down with arms out.
  • Mat optional. A rug or clean floor works.
  • Water bottle. They'll want it halfway through.
  • A camera at the right height — they should be visible head to toe.
  • Parent out of the room. Kids practise better without an audience.
  • A favourite stuffed animal is welcome — they often become a class character.
FAQs

What parents ask first.

My kid won't sit still. Is that a problem?

That's the entire reason this class exists. We don't ask kids to sit still. We give them better things to do with their energy until they want to be still — which happens naturally in the calm-down chapter.

Do I need to join the class too?

No, but you can. The parent-child session runs once a month and is built around shared poses. The other weeks, kids practise better without parents watching — they take more risks.

What does "storyline-based" actually mean?

Every class has a setting. Today the kids are in a forest. They meet a tree (tree pose), then a lion (lion pose), then a butterfly. The poses connect because the story connects. Kids remember the journey, not the asana list — and that's why the practice sticks beyond the class.

How is this different from a kids' gym class?

Gym classes train output — strength, speed, performance. This trains regulation. By the end of a class, your child knows how to come down from a high-energy state on purpose. That skill stays with them well past the mat.

What if my kid hates it after one class?

Give it three sessions before deciding. The first class is always strange. If session three is still a fight, full refund on the month, no questions.
